| In my last post, I wrote about a home coming: that of my Aunt and Uncle and family...
One month ago today, another very dear person went home; but not to where we all hoped he would go in Virginia, but to heaven.

Just a little over a year ago, just under a year old...

With your final heartbeat Kiss the world goodbye Then go in peace And laugh on glory's side
Fly to Jesus, Fly to Jesus, Fly to Jesus and live

| Yesterday morning, after almost 4 years, two families were reunited in the Indy International Airport (I love that place... I could live it in ) :
Uncle David, gone in Africa for the last 4 years, embraces his mother
Aunt Terri gets a hug from her mother-in-law
The rest of the airport pictures didn't turn out to terribly well, and I was too excited to take many. Later on, we all had lunch at our pastor's house.
Lizzie, the oldest (man, she's grown up! We were just kids when she left)
I didn't get too many other good pictures of my Uncle's family, so I'll stop there. We had a lovely time. Later that evening, the Youth Group went to the fair, but my pictures from that are just of animals and of what reminds me of vanity fair. Nothing like it...
| Do but consider what an excellent thing sleep is: it is so inestimable a jewel that, if a tyrant would give his crown for an hour’s slumber, it cannot be bought: of so beautiful a shape is it, that though a man lie with an Empress, his heart cannot beat quiet till he leaves her embracement to be at rest with the other: yea, so greatly indebted are we to this kinsman of death, that we owe the better tributary. Half of our life to him: and there is good cause why we should do so: for sleep is that golden chain that ties health and our bodies together. Who complains of want? Of wounds? Of cares? Of great man’s oppressions? Of captivity? Whilst he sleepeth? Beggars in their beds take as much pleasure as kings: can we therefore surfeit on this delicate Ambrosia? Can we drink too much of that whereof to taste too little throws us into Bedlam? No, no, look upon Enymion, the moon’s minion, who slept three score and fifteen years, and was not a hair the worse for it.

| Kara keeps telling me to put up a “real” update… and when I look at my blog aside from the private posts, I am inclined to agree with her that it is terribly boring. So, I am going to put up a real update. :)
Last month, daddy and mommy got me the most awesome guitar. It is just sheer pleasure playing that thing, and it actually fits me! Its smaller that most guitars and its pretty awesome.
I’ve been working at the PCU once a week all summer, which is the unit one step under the ICU. There are some pretty unusual people there. Last week, there were a couple people visiting one of the patients and they kept trying to get me to tease the husband of the patient by taking his hat off, because, “His hat is what holds him together, *wink*” They always kept the nurses amused, which is always a good thing. The nurses on the unit are the most awesome nurses that I’ve met at BH.
On Wednesday, Uncle David and co fly into town after a little under 4 years. It’ll be so strange, but also fun. This week and the two after it are the kids’ swimming lessons, so the whole house going to be pretty empty in the mornings, which is nice but sometimes eerily quiet.
And after those finish, we are going to Arizona! Seeing the Grand Canyon is going to be so amazing and beautiful. And I am actually looking forward to the heat. I love a lot of heat and sun, as long as there isn’t too much humidity mixed it, which there won’t be in Arizona. The most exciting thing is that everything is pretty burned out where we are going and so we might not have much to see but burned trees in the Sedona area. Oh well. It’ll still sing God’s praises.
I have just about 17 more pages of my enormous scrapbook that I’m working on to finish. Its nice to have the end in sight. :) I already have like 29 pages done. Man, that thing is so huge. Also, this week is fair week! Which means that last week was 4-H turn-in week. That is the most miserable week of the year, but it was a little better this year. Next year is going to be a nightmare because I have to make a pie… Oh my.
But now I shall leave this rambling post becuase I’ve got to be productive before I leave for the hospital.
